Source:   Unclaimed stray MCAC in Woodstock

Appearance:  Unkempt, residual hotspot, has clipped coat, long nails and matts.

Incoming physical condition:   Incoming 68# - thin body, hair is dry and brittle either from weather elements or poor nutrition. U/A reveals urinary tract infection and diabetes. Cataracts in both eye - sight limited to shadows. Still intact.

Estimated age:   Shelter est. 5 years; clinic est. 7-8 due to cataracts; teeth est. 5-7.

Temperament:   Unbelievably sweet and tolerant of all handling. Groomers and veterinary staff simply rave about his sweet disposition. Loves to snuggle close to human.

Notes:  

Parker spent 64 days hospitalized in an effort to stabilize his blood sugar levels. On November 10th he was moved to foster care with Dr. Kathleen McManamon, DVM.

December 5th, Parker was examined by Dr. Ralph Hamor, DVM. of the U. of I. as a preliminary examination for cataract surgery.

January 3rd, Parker had cataract surgery to restore his vision. At this time he is healing and enjoying his "bestest gift ever."
